Audi Virtual Cockpit showing “Instrument cluster: fault. Limited warning messages. Please contact workshop”?
If your Audi’s digital instrument cluster is showing that warning, a scan will usually find fault code B200096 — Control Module Faulty stored in the instrument cluster. At the dealership, the standard answer is to replace the complete Virtual Cockpit cluster — an expensive part, plus programming.
Before you replace the cluster, let us check it. In many cases this fault is stored by a software glitch rather than a failed cluster, and the original cluster can be recovered and verified. We diagnose the cluster first, confirm whether your fault can be cleared from your original unit, and verify it stays clear after a full restart and road test. If your cluster genuinely has an internal hardware failure, we will tell you straight — and we can also help with programming a replacement cluster if it comes to that.
